The summer openings are neighborhood plays, not destination plays
The openings that have arrived so far in 2026 cluster along Tamiami Trail North and inside the near-downtown pockets locals actually walk to. They are chef-driven or single-unit concepts, not the marquee national names. That is the tell. Kayla Pfeifer, executive chef and co-owner of Bicyclette Cookshop and Heyday Cookshop, launched Heyday at Neapolitan Way in Naples in April, adding a second concept from a chef with James Beard Emerging Chef semifinalist and Food Network Chopped Champion credits already attached to her first restaurant. That is not a summer-tourist bet. That is a resident-repeat bet.
Meanwhile, Claypot Turkish Restaurant at 4910 Tamiami Trail N. opened in late May as a fast-casual Turkish concept where everything is made from scratch in actual clay pots using traditional methods, with a Mini Grand Bazaar of imported Turkish goods inside. Buck & Rider is targeting a late 2026 opening at Waterside Shops with an open kitchen, expansive raw bar, and breezy indoor-outdoor seating. CEO Adam Strecker described Naples as a natural first choice for the brand's first expansion outside Arizona.
Add to that Eddie V's Prime Seafood, targeting summer 2026 on a redeveloped outparcel at the southwest corner of Waterside Shops, with a wine list of more than 300 wines and a V Lounge featuring live music trios nightly, marking the first Darden concept at this tier to open in Naples, and RH Restaurant, targeting late 2026 at the center of Restoration Hardware's new glass-atrium gallery on the former Nordstrom site, positioned as one of the most anticipated openings of the year. Elsewhere at the resort tier, Blackbird Modern Asian is opening a second location inside Naples Bay Resort with waterfront views, and Violí is bringing grilled lamb chops, branzino, and Greek-inspired cocktails to a taverna-style menu at the Mercato.
